R&D Protein Process Technician/Engineer:


Location: Oxford, UK
Full time position
Start date: as soon as possible
Duration: until January 2019 with possibility of extension until September 2019
Reporting to the R&D Manager

 We are seeking to recruit a serious, innovative, collaborative, self-motivated, committed, meticulous and organized full time R&D protein process technician/Engineer to produce our spinnable feedstock protein solutions, improve the quality of our solutions and upscale their production.

The candidate will interface with external research teams to support, trouble shoot and continue the development of the processes and the testing of the resulting spun fibers.

Key responsibilities:

-Organize all laboratory work efficiently

-Help improve the processes developed to obtain the main feed-stock used for spinning fibers.

-Ensure all manufacturing process improvements are scalable.

-Communicate observations and outcomes on a regular and scheduled basis.

-Maintain the laboratory stocks and equipment, place orders for materials and consumables.

-Comply with laboratory requirements and procedures.

-Follow strict documentation and data recording procedures.

-Write and follow SOPs as required.

Candidate's key attributes:

-Degree in protein chemistry, engineering

-Prior experience in industry is a plus

-Practical and hands-on laboratory skills with strong analytical skills

-Excellent work planning ability

-Able to work in a small team
